This genuine relic of 19th century imperial English propaganda masquerading as a history is suitable really for young boys under the age of 16 years. It is simplistic, rustic, with a quaint touch of romance that was probably quite becoming over a 100 years ago but it is regrettably brief on and much real historically useful detail and long on whimsical storytelling. But a good tale for people without any real knowledge of these two very famous, if one sided, medieval battles where killing technology was very important and which kept the English embroiled in French politics and history for another couple of centuries.
Well written historical story. A joy to read.
Great read.....exciting adventure which is keeping our interest and desire to continue and to finish the story to see where the plot line leads.
This book has exciting adventure, authentic details, and is one of Henty's best books. Henty was English and very patriotic. If you want the French point of view, don't read this book.
100 years war in a nutshell. Complex subject yet entertaining, albeit a typical Henry story line, still a good read

I give it 4 stars because the history is absolutely correct. The story, however, was mediocre at best.
